When you get it

The docs playground hit its per-IP or site-wide hourly ceiling. Never returned to an API key.

The docs playground hit one of its two ceilings — five renders an hour from one IP, or two hundred an hour across every visitor at once. It is never returned to a request carrying an API key.

How to fix it

• Create a free account. 100 renders a month, no shared ceiling, and no queue behind everyone else on the internet.

Is it billed?

No. A request is billed only when Chromium actually ran. The playground is a shop window, not an API. The site-wide cap exists so that one enthusiastic script cannot take the demo down for everyone.

The -i matters: Retry-After and X-Renders-Remaining are headers, and a client that only reads the body throws away the two numbers that tell it what to do next.
